A Reassuring and Respectful Farewell

At Farewells Funerals, we understand how overwhelming the day of a funeral can be, and we are here to offer calm, supportive guidance every step of the way. Under Victoria’s lead, our team ensures everything goes smoothly, with compassion and respect, allowing you to focus on what matters most – saying goodbye to your loved one.

Step 1: Arrival at the Venue

On the day of the funeral, we will arrive at the chosen venue (whether it's your home, a place of worship, or a crematorium) at the agreed-upon time. We understand how important the first moments of the day are, and our team will greet you with warmth and sensitivity, ensuring everything is prepared.

Funeral Vehicles:

Our Jaguar XF Fleet and Daimler Fleet will be there to transport your loved one and the family to the funeral venue, ensuring everyone travels with comfort and dignity. If you wish, the procession can also include any special places that were dear to your loved one, such as their home or a place of significance.

Respectful Procession:

The funeral procession will proceed smoothly, and you’ll be guided to the venue where the service will take place. Our team will lead you with care and clarity.

Step 2: The Funeral Service

At the venue, whether it’s a church, crematorium, or another location, the service will begin according to your wishes. Victoria and the team will make sure every detail is handled perfectly. This includes:

Officiant

We’ll arrange for an officiant, whether a religious leader or celebrant, to conduct the service. You can decide on the tone of the service—whether it’s formal, informal, spiritual, or secular.

Personal Tributes

If you wish to have specific readings, music, or personal tributes included, we will ensure everything flows seamlessly. From your loved one’s favourite songs to meaningful poems or quotes, we will make sure their personality shines through.

Floral Tributes

Beautiful floral tributes will be placed to honour your loved one. Our team will coordinate with florists to ensure the arrangements reflect the wishes of the family, whether that’s wreaths, sprays, or custom-designed flowers.

Step 3: The Committal

After the service, the committal will take place, which is the moment when your loved one’s body is either laid to rest or cremated. This is a deeply emotional part of the ceremony, and we’re here to guide you through it:

This moment is often one of reflection, and we’ll be there to ensure everything runs smoothly.

  • Cremation: If the deceased is being cremated, the coffin will be gently moved to the crematorium’s cremation chamber. The family may choose to either be present or have the curtains drawn at the end of the service.
  • Burial: If a burial is planned, the committal will take place at the graveside. Our team will be there to guide you and ensure everything is done with dignity and respect.

Step 4: Leaving the Venue

After the committal, we’ll ensure that the departure from the venue is calm and organised. If you wish to spend some time with friends and family or reflect quietly, we will give you space to do so.

  • Transportation: Our vehicles will be available to transport you to the next location, whether it’s a memorial service or a private family gathering.
  • Support: We’ll be available to offer any assistance, ensuring that you feel comfortable and supported during this time.

Step 6: After the Funeral

After the funeral service, we remain committed to supporting you through the next steps. Victoria and the team at Farewells Funerals will ensure that the final arrangements are taken care of, whether that involves dealing with any paperwork or helping you with further funeral-related decisions.

Return of Ashes:

If a cremation took place, we will return your loved one’s ashes within 5-10 working days. You can decide how you would like to memorialise them, and we’re here to assist with that process.

Legal and Financial Support:

If you need guidance with legal matters, probate, or financial advice, we are happy to connect you with professionals who can help guide you through those steps.
